Physical Abuse & Sexual Violence Against Children

The report by Save the Children describes deteriorating conditions for Palestinian children in Israeli military detention, with increased reports of physical abuse, sexual violence, starvation, and the spread of infectious diseases like scabies. The abuse has worsened since the conflict escalated in October 2023. Children are held in overcrowded, unsanitary cells, and denied adequate medical treatment. Many are traumatized and struggling to recover post-release, facing ongoing fears of re-arrest.

 In the winter, they opened the windows so we would feel cold. One child prisoner had a severe rash, so we asked the guard to allow him to sit in the sun or clean his body. The guard said, ‘Call me back when he’s dead’.
